The American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) believes residency directors in CPME approved programs should be board-certified by ABPS or ABPOPPM. Residency Directors should have residency coordinators to assist them in the management and day-to-day operations of administering the program. This would ensure that Residency Directors who are responsible for the education of residents are adequately trained and that graduating residents are capable of providing a high level of foot and ankle care to the community.
