Q. I typed into the customizable box and then printed the brochure, but the customizable box was empty on my printout—what happened?

A. You must click once somewhere outside of the box before printing. After typing into the customizable box, move your cursor to another area on the screen and click once.  Then select print again.

Q. Can I customize the text within the patient content?

A. No. The brochure text cannot be altered. Specific information your practice wishes to provide to patients can be inserted into the box on page two.

Q. Can I save the customized version of the brochures on my computer?

A. No. Currently, Adobe Acrobat software does not support that function. One way to make customization of the patient education PDFs more convenient is to type your text in MS Word and save it there. Then, when you need the text for a brochure, open the Word document and copy & paste the text into the customizable area of the patient education brochure (the .pdf file). You might also consider photocopying 50-100 copies of the brochures at a time, so you do not have to customize the pdfs as often.

Q. Can I post the brochures on my Web site?

A. No. When you purchased the CD, you purchased a single-user license to use the CD and its contents on one computer. The CD and its contents are owned by ACFAS and are protected by US and international copyright laws. The license does not permit users to publish the content on-line. For more information, read "Copyright & License" on the Patient Education CD.

Q. We have several offices, do we need to purchase one CD for each office?

A. No, but you would need to purchase additional licensing agreements. By purchasing the CD, you accept a single-user agreement. This means that you are purchasing one license to use the CD on one computer only. For more information, read "Copyright & License" on the Patient Education CD. For information on how to purchase additional licensing agreements, call ACFAS Headquarters at 773-693-9300.

Q. Have the old printed ACFAS brochures been phased out?

A. Yes. This new format (on CD-ROM) replaced the old ACFAS brochures.
