CMS to Implement Electronic Transactions Contingency Plan
CMS announced today that it will implement a contingency plan to accept non-compliant electronic transactions after the October 16th deadline. The contingency plan permits CMS to continue to accept and process claims in their current format, which will give practices additional time to complete the testing process.

ACFAS has remained vigilant in its National Physician Coalition HIPAA Workgroup activities over the past 18 months to assure that these new standards do not create significant adverse consequences for our members.

Members that responded to our recent online HIPAA TCS Requirements Survey assisted us tremendously in these endeavors!
