Celebrating Safely

Celebrating Safely

For 78 years, you’ve known the College to bring you the premiere educational experience throughout the year, but especially at the yearly Annual Scientific Conference. The high-quality educational experience offerings will be what you expect from ACFAS, but the experience will look a bit different. You may be getting the education either virtually through the ACFAS Digital Experience or in-person in Las Vegas. No matter how you get your education, we are excited to be together again.

If you are coming to Las Vegas, we want to be clear about what you can expect at ACFAS 2021. As federal, state, local, and Mandalay Bay regulations and policies regarding large events continue to change, these guidelines may be updated prior to the event.

  • ACFAS and Mandalay Bay will be following all safety directives mandated by the State of Nevada and the CDC.
  • Social distancing of six feet will be followed in all educational gatherings, including, but not limited to registration, the exhibit hall and other gatherings.
  • Masks are currently required within Mandalay Bay and all attendees must wear one unless otherwise designated that they are not required.
  • Limiting registration to the conference to prevent over-crowding. See the additional information below.
  • A fully contactless process for receiving your badge on-site.
  • We will be following the Mandalay Bay and MGM Resort’s Seven-Point Safety Plan.
  • Virtual concierge stations will be made available for attendees to video chat with ACFAS staff to help answer questions.
  • A wellness station will be available on-site.
  • Food and beverages will be provided in a no-contact way.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for attendees to use throughout the convention center and hotels.
  • Microphones with a contactless way to ask questions will be available during educational sessions.
  • Because we cannot guarantee social distancing, we will not be able to accommodate larger gatherings, such as the wrap party. We are working on trying to hold smaller networking sessions.
  • ACFAS is giving in-person attendees access to the ACFAS 2021 Digital Portal, which will include next-day access to session recordings.

Please be advsied button

Over the past few months, the timing and regulations regarding in-person events has continually shifted in response to the COVID-19 vaccination and recovery efforts. ACFAS will follow all safety procedures, in addition to the policies set by Mandalay Bay, for this event. As of March 15, the State of Nevada has started to gradually ease some restrictions relative to running events. These may continue to change up until the event and ACFAS will respond accordingly. Please watch your e-mail or the ACFAS website for the latest information.

COVID Trace App
COVID Trace is a contact tracing mobile app developed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services that uses a technology called the Exposure Notifications System from Google and Apple. The app exchanges anonymous information with other phones in your vicinity and can notify you if you've come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
