Program Summary/Training Goals
- The fellowship is private office-based in a sports medicine-weighted practice with strong biomechanics implementation.
- The program encourages the fellow to work up new patients, determine diagnostic plans, make diagnoses and implement treatment programs.
- For proposed
surgeries, the fellow determines surgical plan options and is involved in
surgery ranging from assistance to skin-to-skin participation depending
on capability, case complexity and individual surgeon.
- The fellow is either in office or at a nearby outpatient surgery center when surgery cases are scheduled. The outpatient surgery center has 10 to 15 active attending DPMs who regularly admit cases and will lead the fellow.
- Outside rotation at a nearby hospital will contribute complex cases for teaching experience.
