Research Requirements:
Presentation of a poster at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference.
Written manuscript submitted to JFAS, FASTRAC or other relevant journal.
Program Summary/Training Goals:
- The purpose of this one-year post-residency fellowship training program is to provide an advanced and intense surgical experience from a regional referral base of complex foot/ankle/leg patients with an emphasis on complex limb salvage, trauma, and reconstructive surgery.
- The program will provide training in surgical skills and fully develop the fellow as an educator in the field of podiatric medicine wound care and surgery.
- The surgical skills that are fine-tuned include in-depth exposure to various aspects of reconstructive complex fixation techniques, total ankle replacement, and Charcot reconstruction.
- The fellow will also gain office and hospital exposure as related to patient and functional management of the business aspects of a private practice.
