1. Please Note: Each resident is limited to submitting one scientific literature review per program year. They may submit during any one of the quarterly submission deadlines- April 1 , July 1, October 1, and January 15.

2. The articles should be from a non-podiatric journal (Articles from JFAS, JAPMA, Foot and Ankle International or Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics will not be accepted), but the article should be podiatrically and surgically relevant. The purpose is to summarize research published in journals to which podiatric foot and ankle surgeons may not normally subscribe or read.
Meta-analyses, reviews and case studies should be avoided. They do not adequately allow the residents to make conclusions that are applicable to practice. Moreso they're reporting what a lot of other studies say.

Examples of acceptable topics include (but are not limited to):
- Foot/ankle surgical or non-surgical treatment
- General surgical issues
- Bone/wound healing
- Physician-patient communication
- Imaging, etc.
3. Senior Editor reserves the right to decline a submission if in their opinion it is not of sufficient quality. This is intended to be your interpretation of an interesting study, not just a reiteration of the abstract (do not copy and paste from the abstract).
4. Submit all SLRs to the submission form provided by ACFAS (the link to this form will be posted on the SLR home page on the ACFAS website).
