FootHealthFacts.org earns Bronze Award for website excellence

CHICAGO – December 23, 2010—The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons’ consumer website, FootHealthFacts.org, has been honored with a Bronze Award for website excellence in Association TRENDS’ 2010 All-Media Contest. The website was chosen among more than 470 entries in the annual association publications contest which recognizes the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year.

“FootHealthFacts.org is a culmination of the dedicated efforts put forth by committee members and staff at the College to offer the public one of the most dynamic, trustworthy foot and ankle healthcare websites on the Internet,” Amber Shane, DPM, FACFAS, Consumer Education Committee chairperson says. “We are pleased that the site has become such a helpful resource for patients and its value is being honored by members in the association industry.”

FootHealthFacts.org, a website recently re-developed by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, offers visitors an extensive library of foot and ankle health topics searchable by both an alphabetical index or by “pointing” to their area of concern on the “Where do you hurt?” interactive search. Visitors can also read the latest health news articles, listen to podcasts and watch videos on various topics, or search for a foot and ankle surgeon in their locality.

FootHealthFacts.org continues to break monthly visitor records proving it is a valuable service to those in need of reliable health information, with over 3 million unique visitors in 2010.
