Dr. Jordan Grossman Installed as President of National Surgical Society

CHICAGO-February 12, 2013 - Jordan P. Grossman, DPM, FACFAS, is now the 62nd president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), a national association of over 6,800 foot and ankle surgeons. Dr. Grossman was installed as president at the ACFAS 71st Annual Scientific Conference in Las Vegas.

The ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, the largest educational meeting for foot and ankle surgeons in the U.S., draws attendees from around the world to discuss the most current techniques and technology for treatment of deformities, diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle.

"As President of ACFAS, I feel it is my responsibility to maintain the high-leveled precedents set forth by the many ACFAS Presidents before me. It is a distinguished honor to serve the College and its members in this capacity. There are vast opportunities, currently and on the immediate horizon, for our members and the patients they treat. I am excited about the upcoming year and the rewarding experience I know it will provide. More than anything, I look forward to giving back to the profession, my colleagues, patients and the College," said Dr. Grossman.

Dr. Grossman practices in Akron, Ohio with the Northeast Ohio Orthopaedic Associates and is board certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He serves as teaching faculty for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at Akron General Medical Center and the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Kaiser Permanente/Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Grossman also serves as a clinical assistant professor in orthopaedic surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University and is Chief, Section of Podiatry at Akron General Medical Center and St. Thomas Hospital/Summa Health System.

Dr. Grossman earned his podiatric medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a podiatric surgical residency at the Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania Hospital and fellowships at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh and at the University of Ulm, Germany.
