Dr. Michael J. Cornelison Elected President-Elect of National Surgical Society

CHICAGO (March 25, 2021)-In ceremonies on March 4, Michael J. Cornelison, DPM, FACFAS, took office as president-elect of the 7,800-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). The official induction took place at the virtual ACFAS annual member business meeting.

"I am truly humbled to be selected by my peers to prepare to serve as the president of their College in 2022. It's hard to imagine a more exciting time to be involved in ACFAS, as it pursues new endeavors in professional advocacy, scientific journal development, research initiatives, and public outreach, while also continuing to build on its reputation as the leader in foot and ankle surgical education." Dr. Cornelison said. "I applaud the College's leaders who have worked ahead of me, and I embrace the challenge to perpetuate their successes in the future."

Dr. Cornelison is a foot and ankle surgeon with Foot and Ankle Associates in Cupertino and Los Gatos, California. He is board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. 

Dr. Cornelison holds a podiatric medical degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
