Dr. Michael J. Cornelison Elected Secretary-Treasurer of National Surgical Society

SAN ANTONIO (February 20, 2020)-In ceremonies today Michael J. Cornelison, DPM, FACFAS, took office as secretary-treasurer of the 7,700-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). The official induction took place at the ACFAS 78th Annual Scientific Conference in San Antonio.

The ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, the largest educational meeting for foot and ankle surgeons in the US, draws attendees from around the world to discuss the most current techniques and technology for treatment of deformities, diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle.

"I am truly humbled to be selected Secretary-Treasurer of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons," Dr. Cornelison said. "ACFAS is comprised of the best and brightest minds in foot and ankle surgery. It also includes those who are committed to advancing our specialty to the greatest extent possible, in order to promote professional excellence in its members and in turn to enhance the lives of their patients. I certainly appreciate the honor, and particularly the duty, that comes with filling this position on the College's Board of Directors."

Dr. Cornelison is a foot and ankle surgeon with Foot and Ankle Associates in Cupertino and Los Gatos, California. He is board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. 

Dr. Cornelison holds a podiatric medical degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
