CHICAGO – February 24, 2010—Michael Lee, DPM, FACFAS, is now the 59th president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), a national association of over 6,000 foot and ankle surgeons. Dr. Lee was installed as president at the ACFAS’ 68th Annual Scientific Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, the largest educational meeting for foot and ankle surgeons in the U.S., draws attendees from around the world to discuss the most current techniques and technology for treatment of deformities, diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle.

“I am honored to be serving as president of such a dynamic organization as ACFAS. I hope during my term my colleagues and I will continue to help make advancements in our profession for not only foot and ankle surgeons but perhaps more importantly, for the patients we serve everyday,” said, Dr. Lee.

Dr. Lee, a noted lecturer and author, practices at Capital Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He earned his podiatric medical degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in Iowa, and is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
