Dr. Sean Grambart Becomes President-Elect of National Surgical Society

Phoenix - February 20 2015 - Sean T. Grambart, DPM, FACFAS, took office today as president-elect of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), a national association of more than 7,000 foot and ankle surgeons, during ACFAS' Annual Scientific Conference in Phoenix. 

The ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, the largest educational meeting for foot and ankle surgeons in the U.S., draws attendees from around the world to discuss the most current techniques and technology for treatment of deformities, diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle.

"I am honored to continue serving on the ACFAS Board of Directors and to be part of an organization that does so much to advance and promote the foot and ankle surgery profession," said Dr. Grambart. "The board and I have been working on many new projects and initiatives this past year. We will maintain this progress and will ensure that our members receive the superior education and training they have come to count on from the College."

Dr. Grambart practices at the Carle Physician Group, Department of Surgery, in Champaign, Illinois, and at Kirby Hospital in Monticello, Illinois. He is board-certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a clinical instructor in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Grambart holds a podiatric medical degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his residency at Northwest Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, Swedish Medical Center, in Seattle, as well as a trauma and reconstruction fellowship at Klinik für Unfall und Wiederherstellungschirurgie Universitätsklinikum Carl-Gustav-Carus in Dresden, Germany. He is also a frequent presenter and instructor at podiatric medical and surgical conferences nationwide and a published author.
