Dr. Sean Grambart to Serve as Secretary-Treasurer of National Surgical Society

Orlando February 28, 2014 In ceremonies today, Sean T. Grambart, DPM, FACFAS took office as secretary-treasurer of the 7,000-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). The official ceremony took place at the ACFAS 72nd Annual Scientific Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, the largest educational meeting for foot and ankle surgeons in the U.S., draws attendees from around the world to discuss the most current techniques and technology for treatment of deformities, diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle.

"It is an honor to be elected to serve the college as the secretary-treasurer," Dr. Grambart said.  "The college continues to make great strides in educating and training our young members as well as in being a strong advocate for the profession in general, and I look forward to helping reinforce and expand our efforts as part of the Board of Directors," he added.

Dr. Grambart practices at the Carle Physician Group, Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Division of Orthopaedics in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and is board certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He serves as a Clinical Instructor in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Grambart earned his podiatric medical degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa and served his residency at the Northwest Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, Swedish Medical Center-Providence Campus in Seattle, Washington. He also completed a trauma and reconstruction fellowship at Klinik für Unfall- und Wiederherstellungschirurgie Universitätsklinikum Carl-Gustav-Carus in Dresden, Germany
