Dr. Eric Barp Selected President-elect of ACFAS

AUSTIN, Texas (February 25, 2022)- Eric A. Barp, DPM, FACFAS, recently took office as president-elect of the 7,900-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). The official induction took place at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference in Austin, TX on February 25.

"It is an honor to be selected president-elect of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons," Dr. Barp said. "We are an organization dedicated to excellence in providing education and promoting the experts we train in the profession. I am privileged to be part of the College and committed to advancing our work for the patients in our care."

Dr. Barp is a foot and ankle surgeon with the Iowa Clinic in Des Moines. He is board-certified in foot, reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Barp holds a podiatric medical degree from Des Moines University Podiatric Medical School and completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery at Broadlawns Medical Center. Dr. Barp lectures both nationally and internationally, and his research has been published in numerous textbooks and journals.
