Research Requirements:    
  • Minimum of two papers in peer-reviewed journals
  • Presentation of research at ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference

Program Summary/Training Goals: 
  • The fellow will gain post graduate training and advanced foot and ankle surgical reconstruction. This will include proficiency in complex reconstruction of the foot, rear foot and ankle including total ankle arthroplasty, fracture management and elective surgery.
  • The primary objective of training is to enhance the candidate’s proficiency in the profession while gaining experience to open future job opportunities, the orthopedic and academic career settings.
  • The surgical training is comprehensive amongst office-based training as well as multiple outpatient surgery centers and a top tier academic institution at the community level.
  • In addition to surgical training, the fellows will gain proficiency in billing and outpatient management as well as postoperative care to translate valuable experience into their segway into the candidates’ own clinical practice.
  • Practice model allows the candidate to be fully integrated as a foot and ankle specialist amongst a busy multi-specialty orthopedic group.
  • The fellow will have the ability to foster a mentoring relationship with faculty in both the podiatric and orthopedic community.
