Research Requirements:    
The fellow will participate in lower extremity research studies and will be expected to produce one publication and quality research projects during the fellowship year.

Program Summary/Training Goals: 

  • The fellow will be exposed to comprehensive forefoot, rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery, charcot reconstruction, limb salvage, external fixation frames, delta frames, total ankle replacement and minimally invasive surgery techniques. 
  • The fellow will be able to see their own patients in the clinical setting and learn about billing/coding. 
  • The fellow will be responsible for hospital consults and rounding. 
  • The fellow will train and assist the SF-DVA podiatry residents.   
  • The fellow will participate in cadaver labs. 
  • The fellow will be presenting lectures at local society meetings and possibly at IFAF annual meetings to educate the community and to network.
