Research Requirements:
Must complete a white paper of surgical technique, retrospective analysis, or present a poster at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference.

Program Summary/Training Goals: 
This fellowship will focus on surgical procedures relating to reconstructive, diabetic and traumatic problems of the foot and ankle. The fellow will be expected to learn billing and practice management skills. Research will be conducted and will submit a paper for publication at the end of the year. Most of the week will be in clinic, wound care center and inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.

The fellows will be responsible for all podiatry trauma call and in patient rounding before and after office and clinic. The fellow will work closely with the fellowship director along with other podiatric attendings, vascular surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons and learn infection protocol from infections disease.

They will be required to also run a didactic lecture and journal club review for fellow attendings and residents in surrounding area, once a month.

The goal of this fellowship is to become proficient in pre-, intra- and post-operative surgical procedures of the foot and ankle. They will master surgical techniques of ankle, talar, calcaneal, tarsal and metatarsal fractures. They will get superior knowledge and skill in total ankle replacements and also diabetic infection management.

The fellowship will prepare them to be superior foot and ankle surgeons and to feel confident to handle all podiatric problems and deformities.
