Research Requirements:

  • Fellows are required to complete one peer reviewed project for publication during the year

Program Summary/Training Goals: 

  • Fellows will be given the tools to run a successful private practice or join an established academic practice.
  • A structured didactic program integrated with a very hands-on approach to patient care provides fellows with a well-balanced and comprehensive learning experience.
  • Emphasis is in adult complex forefoot, hindfoot, and ankle reconstruction, MIS techniques, sports-related pathology, and arthroscopy.
  • The fellow will gain experience dealing with collegiate and professional athletes.
  • Involvement with resident education and research during the year is expected.
  • The fellow will spend a minimum of two full days in surgery a week and 2.5 days in clinic. An additional 0.5 days is designated for academics to include use of a state-of-the-art cadaver lab where the fellow can practice surgical and arthroscopy techniques.
  • Additionally, fellows will learn office and surgical coding as well as how to run a busy and efficient foot and ankle practice.
