Research Requirements:

  • One scholarly research project with poster presentation at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference and submission for publication.


Program Summary/Training Goals: 

  • To assist an ACFAS surgical fellow and advance their clinical, surgical and business training beyond residency.
  • The fellow will be exposed to clinical, surgical and research education.
  • Foot and ankle pathology will be broad including sports medicine (advanced arthroscopy, ankle ligament recon, talar OLT repair, Achilles repair/reconstruction), reconstruction (TAA, AA, MIS bunion and Lapidus surgery, flatfoot recon, hindfoot/midfoot arthrodeses, TCC Nails, Ilizarov), trauma (ankle/pilon orif, LisFranc's orif/fusions, hindfoot orif), and Charcot reconstruction/salvage techniques.
  • Clinical experiences will take place in orthopaedic offices, ASCs and hospitals.    
  • Office training will include both podiatry didactics as well as business acumen.
  • A graduating fellow with be prepared to practice at the pinnacle of our profession, help the public with complex foot and ankle pathologies, and continue the advancement of our profession.
