There are currently ten podiatric medical schools within the US, as accredited by The Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).   The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons maintains student clubs at each school. The clubs have many purposes, including:

  • adding to the basic knowledge taught at the podiatric schools by exposing students to more specific surgical techniques.
  • giving students an introduction on what they can do to prepare themselves to seek a residency position.
  • providing students access to the foot and ankle surgical community by bringing in ACFAS Members to speak at the clubs about surgical techniques, and exposing them to the life of a foot and ankle surgeon.
